June 2001
NEW MEETING BOOKS
The 2001 Meeting Book is now available at the office and will be available at the Exchange Meeting.
This is our tenth meeting book and lists 242groups.
Our first Meeting Book in 1992 listed 208 groups.

SORRY!
We accepted Meeting Book changes up until April 8.  Unfortunately these were received too late:
Serenity in Hollis (P. 18) has moved to The Springfield Gardens Church of Christ,
144-04 Farmers Blvd.
Walk the Walk (P. 21) is a Closed Meeting.

SHARATHON LOCATION
In our latest discussion with our landlord, he advised that the building renovations will begin shortly.
While our office space will remain as previously reported, it seems doubtful now that the 2001
Sharathon can be held at the old location.  The QIAA Board is actively seeking alternative locations
and would appreciate suggestions.  Contact Frank R., Office Manager, or let the Board
know at the June 2 Delegates Meeting.

CORRECTIONS WE LIKE TO MAKE!!!
In the last newsletter we advised that our Treasurer received donations from 92 different groups
in the year 2000.  He now tells us the actual number was 108!!!

GROUP ANNIVERSARIES
In our Declaration of Purpose (P. 4 in the Meeting Book) we state that we wish distribute information about AA
events in Queens County.  We get a lot of calls asking about Group Anniversaries.
We can only carry that message if the groups tell us their anniversaries or other events.

IT IS A DAY AT A TIME BUT ....
Future Exchange and Delegates Meetings
June 2
September 8
December 1
REMEMBER: Exchange is now 8:30 A.M.
Delegates Meeting 10:00 A.M.

TWELVE STEP LISTS
We have updated the Twelve Step Lists at the office.  Has your Group submitted any names?
The Twelve Step form is found on the back of the Group Update Sheets we mail out periodically.

QIAA MAILINGS
We do four mailings a year and attempt to contact two people in each group.
We obtain the names and addresses from the officers listed on your Group Information Sheet,
from the sign-in sheets at the Delegates Meetings or by asking for volunteers to be mail contacts.
We sometimes get complaints that groups aren't getting our mail.  In a lot of instances this is
due to the fact that the mail contact hasn't brought it to their group.
We don't like to mail to groups at their meeting locations.  We do if we don't have any
individual mail contacts but we prefer to deal with human beings.
Can you help us here?  If you get mail, please bring it to your group.  If you would like
to be a mail contact for your group, drop us a note or see one of the QIAA officers at the
Exchange or Delegates Meeting.
